Greenmont Capital Partners, a private-equity fund formed by Boulder area natural products pioneers including Mark Retzloff, Hass Hassan, Paul Repetto, Barney Feinblum and others in partnership with Colorado-based investors, announced in late 2006 that Pepsico purchased Izze Beverage Co., one of its portfolio companies. Also, in 2006, Community Energy Inc., another Greenmont portfolio company, was acquired by Iberdrola of Madrid, Spain, the world’s largest owner and operator of renewable energy facilities, for $30 million. In December, Greenmont announced that it has invested in Blue Horizon Organic Seafood Co., based in Aptos, CA.
