- Joan Boykin, former Director of Marketing, New Products, PR & Retail for Celestial Seasonings, a division of the Hain-Celestial Group, recently joined Boulder-based Fresh Produce Sportswear as VP of Merchandising/Design & Marketing. - Frances Draper, a 25-year Boulder resident and business veteran will take over as director of the Boulder Economic Council. Draper succeeds Sean Maher, who served in the position for nearly three years and announced this past summer that he was moving on to pursue other interests. Draper served as VP of Access Graphics in Boulder from 1996 to 2005. Maher was instrumental in the establishment of the Naturally Boulder Task Force through his work with the BEC and Chamber of Commerce and with the City Manager’s office.
- Boulder-based Wild Oats Market, Inc announced in July 2006, the appointment of Hal Brice and Greg Mays to its Board of Directors. Mr. Brice, founder of HEILBrice advertising agency, brings more than 25 years’ experience in retail marketing and strategic communications to Wild Oats Board. Mr. May, former Executive Vice President of Ralphs Grocery Company, brings 27 years of food retail experience to the Board.
- Peter Vitulli has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Boulder-based Sciona, Inc, the leading supplier of direct-to-consumer DNA testing for lifestyle and nutritional guidance. Mr. Vitulli served as President and CEO of Amerifit Nutrition, a $60 million consumer products health and wellness company, prior to coming to Sciona.
- Boulder Chamber of Commerce announced in August 2006 the winners of its 2006 Esprit Entrepreneur awards. Barry Perzow, co-founder and CEO of Pharmaca, is one of five recipients of the Entrepreneurs of Distinction award. The honors will be presented at a ceremony on Oct. 24 at Omni Interlocken Hotel and Resort in Broomfield.
- Boulder-based Wild Oats Market Inc reached an agreement to extend the period of time needed to negotiate a new employment contract with Perry Odak, President and Chief Executive Officer and board member of Wild Oats. The two sides agreed to extend negotiations to Oct. 16.
- Elizabeth Hund, nationally recognized agribusiness leader, has been tapped to head U.S. Bank’s Food and Agribusiness Division. Ms. Hund will be based in Denver, overseeing the food and agribusiness lending for U.S. Bank in its 24-state region. Previously, Ms. Hund served as Chief Financial Officer for Coleman Natural Meats.
- Whole Foods Market Boulder marketing team leader Kathy Dragon has accepted a position with EONS.com, a start-up backed by the founder of Monster.com to serve the 50+ consumer. Dragon will continue to be based in Boulder.
