County Gauges Support for Organic Farming on Open SpaceBoulder County open space officials have recruited a panel of small-scale farmers, including Wyatt Barnes, co-owner of Red Wagon Organic Farm, to advise it in considering the launch of a program that would lease parcels as small as three acres for farm projects on open space. The officials are considering the 45-acre Peck Property, a field southwest of Longmont, as a test site for the project, according to Longmontfyi.com. Boulder County Commissioners Adopt "Zero Waste" PolicyThe Boulder County Commissioners on Nov. 22 adopted a "Zero Waste" policy as a guiding principle for all county operations and for outreach and actions within the community, according to a county press release.
